Respected fellow-country-men, dear Lacks!

It’s hard to find out to-day the representatives of any other nation who would scatter in so many places all over the world like our Lacks do.
Just we can state that no more than 20% of 180,000 of Lacks (according to the latest census of the population of Russia) live in their historical Motherland. A lot of Lacks live in other countries of the world – both contiguous and remote.

First of all we’d like to inform you that the republican weekly “ILCHI” newspaper has been edited in Daghestan in our native language in 24 pages.
Dear compatriots! We are looking forward to a closer acquaintance with you, and we are eager to exchange our traditional mountain greetings, to get a message from you, and to hear your voice, too.
We appeal to every Lack: wherever you lived, please, inform us about your life, and the circumstances which made you get to this or that place, and your genealogy as well. Send us the photos of your parents, and of your ancestors, and of your own, certainly.
A lot of our fellow-countrymen live in the Middle Asia, and Azerbaijan, and Georgia, and many countries, the republics of the former Soviet Union. A significant number of our compatriots live in Turkey. They used to live there in separate settlements, and we do hope that the tracks of the Lack ethnos representatives’ have been preserved in Ethiopia and Yemen.
For the last years a gradual and steady withdrawal from native language has been observed, unfortunately, and we can see its eroding as well as the process of leveling the national ethnic origins.
Nowadays it is vitally necessary to unite in a common pain, and in searching the effective ways to resist this frightening process, and to keep our people from a sad fate.
Our editorial staff is in need of any support, and in concrete assistance, and in active patriotism. We’d be very much obliged to anyone who is ready to feel our sufferings and our experience.
Wherever you lived, do read our “ILCHI” paper. Subscribe, and book, and get it even if you cannot read it in your native language. Let it stay with you in your family as a touching reminder of your belonging to our people, to our native land of Lacks.
Respond and send us your thoughts and your wishes towards our editorial staff.
May Almighty Allah keep you in safe!
